Fuller Forest Preserve Hike

Fuller Forest Preserve, 33-69 Bartlett Rd, York, ME 03909
19 August 10:00 am

Additional Information

Join us for a hike with local author, Sarah Lamagna, while she talks about her new book “Hiking with Kids New England: 50 Great Hikes for Families.” Sarah will start the day with some fun nature facts and a short discussion about her favorite things when going on a hike with kids. She’ll then lead a group around Fuller Forest Preserve through forested wetlands where you might get to see several different types of wildlife. As a former ecologist, Sarah will point out the flora and fauna that you’ll see along the trail and be there to answer any of your burning questions about how to hike with kiddos.
This event is FREE.

Hiking with Kids New England offers up new and exciting adventures for parents and their elementary school-age kids alike. Organized around location, for ease of knocking out all of those "bucket list" places, the book features 50 day hike locations, with each hike featuring color photos and a map. As is standard with FalconGuides, all the basic information--from trailhead GPS to best times to go to fees and contacts--will be there, along with trail descriptions geared directly for the kids.

Sarah will be doing a short, interactive presentation about the things you'll see on the trail and what to look out for. Gather some goodies including hiking safety cards, bubbles, and M&Ms! Then we'll all go for a hike around the forest!

Sarah will be around to answer any questions about hiking with kids or sign books for those who attend.
