DATE CHANGED DUE TO RAIN AND COLD! New Date is Sunday, May 21st @ 3pm!!

Join us in Rogers Park right here in Kittery to celebrate the launch of Hiking with Kids New England!

Our good friend and KIT staff writer Sarah Lamagna has created the ultimate adventure guide to kick off your summer of hiking with the kiddos. We’ll meet at the Kittery Community Center parking lot and gather in the outdoor classroom area of Rogers Park to celebrate with Sarah. She’ll be bringing signed copies of her book to purchase along with giveaways for attendees!

Once we’ve gushed over all of Sarah’s hard work and gotten tons of great hiking recommendations we’ll head out for a family-friendly hike through Rogers Park down to Spruce Creek. We’ll skip some rocks, give each other high fives, and feel the breeze on our faces in honor of this incredible new book!

This event is FREE, but please RSVP to let us know you’re coming so we have enough bubbles and snacks to sustain us on our adventure.

Hiking with Kids New England offers up new and exciting adventures for parents and their elementary school-age kids alike. Organized around location, for ease of knocking out all of those "bucket list" places, the book features 50 day hike locations, with each hike featuring color photos and a map. As is standard with FalconGuides, all the basic information--from trailhead GPS to best times to go to fees and contacts--will be there, along with trail descriptions geared directly for the kids.

Sarah will be doing a short, interactive presentation about the things you'll see on the trail and what to look out for. Gather some goodies including wildlife safety cards, bubbles, whistles, and M&Ms! Then we'll all go for a hike down to the shore!

Sarah will be around to answer any questions about hiking with kids or sign books for those who attend.
